Dufirston J. Neree, Esq.

Dufirstson Julio “D.J.” Neree is a seasoned attorney and strategic advisor who has three decades of experience representing clients in complex financial and varied legal matters. His practice areas involve engagements in labor and employment disputes, state and federal civil and criminal litigation, arbitration and mediation, administrative tribunal proceedings, and appeals. Mr. Neree represents clients and provides guidance as a lawyer, mediator, corporate representative, and board director. He also focuses on providing legal counseling to workers, executives, entrepreneurs, researchers, academics, physicians, and other accomplished professionals, artists, athletes, coaches, administrators, and individuals who have achieved significant distinction in their fields.

Prior to joining Remer, Georges-Pierre & Hoogerwoerd, PLLC, Mr. Neree managed the Miami office of MLK Public Interest Law Offices, Inc. and worked as of counsel with Albert Quirantes, Esq. Criminal DUI & Ticket Lawyers, P.A. and several other large and boutique firms. Mr. Neree practiced in multiple areas including criminal, immigration, family, probate, incapacity, guardianship, property, business and civil rights law. This multidisciplinary perspective enables him to advise clients not merely on the immediate legal question, but on how a particular decision may affect their financial well-being and long-term objectives.

Mr. Neree is admitted to practice in Florida and before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Central, and Northern Districts of Florida. He received his juris doctor from St. Thomas University School of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court and Journal on Complex Litigation. Mr. Neree received his B.A. Degree in Economics from Brown University. He is a graduate of the Harvard Kennedy School of Government where he was awarded the Woodrow Wilson Fellowship in Public Policy & International Affairs. Mr. Neree also earned a master’s in business administration from the Harvard Business School.

Background & Interests

D.J. Neree, Esq. is an active member of the Florida Bar where he has served on the Executive Council of the Public Interest Law Section and chaired the Section’s Cvivl Rights & Immigration Workgroup. Mr. Neree has an extensive expertise in non-recourse project finance, international economic development, community development banking and early stage venture financing. He is quadrilingual and enjoys writing, running, and golfing. Mr. Neree is also engaged in advanced doctoral research concerning sports administration.
